Uniforms:
Usually the Throwback uniforms are pretty bad. The Jets goofy blue, the Packers weird Brown and Blue with the horrid socks, the Buccaneers weird salmon uniforms. I thought I had seen the worst of the worst until this past weekend. The Steelers came out wearing what I can only describe as a money laundering Incarcerated Bumblebee. The stripes? Awful. The weird blocky number? Even worse. I wonder what the players actually feel like when they see the goofy uniforms they have to wear. Even as the some of the toughest men in America, I’m surprised they don’t boycott wearing those outfits.
Dirty Birds Flying Under the Radar:
Somehow, we’re not hearing a ton about the Falcons this year. People are focusing on the Texans, Broncos, Patriots, and the issues of the Jets and Eagles. But Atlanta is quietly the last undefeated team in the NFL. In my mind, the Texans are a better team, but the Falcons have a legit chance of going undefeated this year (at least in the regular season). They have a dreadfully easy schedule, only tough games left could be the Saints twice (if you consider them tough), and then the Giants at home. I feel like the Packers, 49ers, or Giants could defeat the Falcons in the playoffs, thwarting an undefeated run. But could be exciting in the meantime.
Stat of the Week #1:
Peyton Manning has 4 more TD’s and 4 fewer INT’s than Eli.
Stat of the Week #2:
Chris Johnson somehow went from 45 yds in 3 weeks, to 7th in the NFL in rushing. In 4 of his 8 games, he has run for 24 or fewer yards.
Stat of the Week #3:
The 30th and 31st ranked teams in total offensive yards both have winning records, the Bears are #30!
Stat of the Week #4:
Sunday’s loss dropped the Rams from 5th to 23rd in total defense
Stat of the Week #5:
Through Week 9, Kansas City hasn’t taken ONE SNAP with the lead in a game! They have never had the lead in a game other than the final FG (last play of game) in OT vs the Saints. Hard to believe they’ve never been up 3-0 in the first quarter or anything. To put this in perspective, even with the Patriots absolute blowout of the Rams 45-7, the Rams had the lead in the game.
Stat of the Week #6:
The Bears have returned more Interceptions for TD’s (6) than Cam Newton has TD passes all year (5).
Quote of the Week:

If the Playoffs Started Today:
The Vikings, Dolphins, and Colts would all be in the Playoffs. They had the #1, #3, and #8 picks in the draft last year.
Backup QB most likely to start:
The Eagles and Jets have been dealing with the media and fans begging to bench their starter for their backups. Do you bench the $100 million man for a rookie? Tough to do. Do you bench your franchise QB who took your team to back to back AFC Championship games for God himself? Perhaps a bit easier. If I would have to place a guess, I bet that if the Eagles go 2-2 within their next 4 games, that Nick Foles will be starting by Week 13. I bet Ryan holds out with Sanchez, and Tebow gets traded after next year. Still think the Jets have a shot at the playoffs in the mediocre AFC.
Coaches on the Hot Seat:
The NFL always seems to have about a 20% turnover rate with coaches. The 3 this year that I think are gone (minus a miracle second half) is Ron Rivera- Panthers, Romeo Crennel- Chiefs, and Norv Turner- Chargers. Turner has been on the hot seat for 5 years, he should be out after a second disappointing season.
International Prediction:
In the spirit of last week’s International Edition, and FMQB’s propensity for making wacky predictions, I am going to make a doozy of one. I bet London has an NFL team before Los Angeles does. The Olympics were just held in London, so we know they have a brand new stadium that I’m sure could house an NFL team. That’s something LA doesn’t even have right now.
Halfway Point Playoff Predictions:
AFC:
- Texans
- Patriots
- Broncos
- Steelers
- Ravens
- Dolphins
NFC:
- Falcons
- Bears
- Giants
- 49ers
- Packers

Game of the Week:
